About TOUCHE’ and the Author

Todd J. Griffee grew up in the shadow of the Golden Dome, in Niles, MI. Todd’s father, Joe Griffee, served the Navy, as a frogman, and was a “Plank-Owner,” on the USS Von Steuben. Joe was part owner of the family’s business, Jay’s Lounge, and was a regional sales representative for a company, who sold X-ray equipment to hospitals.  Todd’s mother, Leslie Griffee, was his biggest cheerleader, and was a server at the University Club of Notre Dame. Leslie was a devout Catholic, and went on to running a successful daycare before passing away in 2009.
At 10 years-old, Todd was inspired with his life purpose of being a G-Man. He utilized his love of Notre Dame, history, and military service to formulate a plan, which including him being recruited by Notre Dame for Fencing, and joining Army ROTC to pay the tuition. Todd’s plan resulted in his graduating Notre Dame with two All-American Fencing Awards, and being commissioned as an Army Officer. Todd went on to serve as an Officer in the Army Reserves, and saw extensive action as an Indiana State Trooper. Todd went on to become a St. Joseph County Deputy, and later used the goal setting skills he discovered getting into Notre Dame to open his own business. Todd was called back to his first love, law enforcement, and was hired as a Federal Police Officer at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Fort Story in Virginia Beach, VA. He was promoted and transferred to NSA Crane in southern Indiana. While at NSA Crane, Todd became a Navy Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Investigator, which led him to being recruited as an Investigator with the Naval Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS).
Todd has been blessed with three children, two stepchildren, and five grandchildren, with one more on the way. He is married to Bonnie Jo Griffee, who has been a teacher for over 23 years. It was during conversations with Bonnie, about education, where Bonnie was confident Todd’s journey, to Notre Dame, would be beneficial to children, teens, young adults, and even adults seeking to find their passion and purpose in life. Todd fulfilled Bonnie’s wishes and completed, TOUCHE'; A Notre Dame All-American Fencer's Spiritual Guide to Success. During the writing of the book, Todd was amazed how much of his journey to Notre Dame was a spiritual one - filled with rich life lessons. The desired end result of the book is if others could see the miracles, which manifested in Todd’s life, they could find hope God could work miracles in their lives.
Todd enjoys his career, travelling, and spending time with family. His spare time is filled with running, swimming, bicycling, motorcycling, shooting, kayaking, becoming proficient in cello, and rallying his Porsche at Porsche Club of America Events. He is preparing the lessons learned, while writing TOUCHE', to be presented in speaking engagements to schools, government agencies, sports teams, schools, organizations, and business entities.
